Our good friend Doug Heitkamp started Design Tech more
than 15 years ago which became the hallmark of resin
cast structures and car kits. In 2005 Doug Junda
purchased Design Tech from Heitkamp and re-issued many
of the fabulous structures he developed. Junda also
purchased that portion of the Foothills Models line that
related to the Design Tech line (primarily O scale
offerings). In Jan. 2007, at our invitation, Doug Junda
opted to merge Design Tech into the family of ProtoWest
companies. We proudly offer the Design Tech line in our
ever-growing collection of models designed by some of
the best modelers in the world.
